The Mighty Pearstine “Perk” Badger cut a handful of sides for Wax-Wel and his own Hit Sound (and Hit Bound) labels in the late 1960s and early 1970s, including a low-fidelity attempt at the anthemic “Do Your Stuff.” A few years later, Perk took another stab, enlisting the help of Arnold Albury’s Rising Sons, a major force in Henry Stone’s TK operation. The results were raw, magical, heavy-hitting funk. Issued here on a bright replica Suncut label with bottom-heavy refurbished sound.
